It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays are a perfect time to hop in the car and listen to holiday music and gaze at beautiful holiday lights. While there are many impressive displays of lights throughout the Denver metro, they often cost money, are extremely busy, or sell out quickly. We’ve rounded up the best local neighborhoods where you can see holiday lights for free.
Westminster Family Light Show – Westminster
This impressive light display syncs up to music for 24 days of December. Tune into 93.5 FM to watch as the lights dance to the music in your car! Davin Young works hard year round to put on this show for all to see.

Onstott Christmas Extravaganza – Commerce City
This popular display is put on by Mike and Jen Onstott in Commerce City and has been a labor of love for over 10 years. This display includes over 35,000 lights, synchronized music, and has a nightly show starting at 5pm. They also have a virtual fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital Colorado – an organization close to their hearts. Windsor Gardens – Denver
This unique neighborhood holds a holiday decorating contest each year which makes it great for a free light show for families. Over 75% of the neighborhood participates, and it’s been going on since 1960! If you go closer to Christmas Day, you may even see signs of who won. Each house is unique, and you’ll feel like you’re driving through a winter wonderland.

It’s a Wonderful Light – Aurora
This gorgeous display is for a good cause and hopes to raise money for the Autism Society of Colorado. Corey Christiansen is passionate as both of his children are autistic.This great display has over 50,000 lights that transport you into a winter wonderland. Visitors are encouraged to text SPREADLIGHT to 44321 to help them raise their goal of $15,000 for the Autism Society of Colorado.
